US MOTION offers contact distance measurement sensors utilizing LVDT (linear variable differential transducer) and digital contact probe technology. Over the years, we have been asked by our customers to develop several generations of these contact sensors, which are ideal for measurements in settings where optical sensors cannot be used.

Contact distance measurement systems typically consist of an LVDT gage head, stainless steel calibration stand and charging station with measurement data streamed wirelessly to custom-programmed data analysis / feedback software on the host PC for immediate availability.
